Getting Started

  • Creating an Importal account takes less than two minutes.

Once registered, you get immediate access to the Importal platform including Tariff Calculator Pro, Country Comparison, and the Product Library. No credit card is required to start.

Importal is designed to be used before goods are purchased, not after they arrive at the port. Many customers use the platform during sourcing, product development, and vendor negotiations to understand true landed cost before committing capital.

  • Product catalogs can be uploaded via CSV directly into the Product Library.

Importal supports catalogs ranging from a few SKUs to tens of millions of products. Each record may include SKU identifiers, product descriptions, HTS classifications, country of origin, material composition, and PGA indicators.

Once uploaded, tariff intelligence is maintained at the product level. When trade rules change, updated duty rates and tariffs are automatically applied across impacted SKUs.

  • At minimum, Tariff Calculator Pro requires:

    • Product description or HTS code

    • Country of origin

    • Estimated customs value

    • Steel, Copper, Aluminum content of the product being imported (if applicable)

Providing additional product attributes improves accuracy and enables advanced modeling for landed cost forecasting, sourcing analysis, and tariff exposure planning.

Platform and Data

  • Tariff data is monitored continuously.

Importal tracks updates from CBP, the Federal Register, and active trade programs including Section 301, 232, 201, IEEPA actions, quotas, and exclusions.

When changes occur, tariff logic updates automatically across your entire product catalog.

  • Tariff Calculator Pro analyzes your product data against the current Harmonized Tariff Schedule and all active trade measures.

For each product, the platform calculates true landed costs and identifies compliance requirements, including applicable government agencies, required licenses or certifications, and relevant tariff programs.

Importal also flags potential exclusions, preferential trade programs, and mitigation opportunities to help reduce duty exposure where available.

Tariff Calculator Pro is best used before shipping goods to the U.S. to ensure products enter compliantly and without unexpected costs.

  • Country Comparison allows teams to model tariff exposure across multiple sourcing countries.

By applying identical product data across different origins, Importal highlights duty differentials and landed cost variance before purchase orders are committed.
